NUMB3RS? Number "Two" Comes to mind.

CBS has rolled out yet another gritty crime-drama. Just what network television needs. So, to keep the theme, let's do the math:

CBS has "CSI," the CSI spin-off "CSI: Miami" the CSI-like "Without a Trace," the other CSI spin-off "CSI: New York," another CSI-looking show in "Cold Case," and NCIS - which may or may not be anything like CSI, but it has 3 of the same letters. And now we have "Numb3rs." So that's six shows that are all very similar in that they "solve" crimes. Talk about saturating the market. Who was talking about saturating the market? No one. Well, now I did. So, talk about saturating the market!

Is "Numb3rs" well produced? Yes. Does it have an original spin on the genre? Sure. Do I care? No. I am watching "Numb3rs" as I type this. And it's the first episode I've seen. But, I am turned off by this show for the following reasons:

- I'm drunk on box wine

- It looks like every single crime drama on CBS, and has no visual identity of it's own, and I'm sick of the saturated look.

- Rob Morrow aint doing it for me. He's got David Caruso's smugness, and that's never a good thing. Plus he goes through the show making his best Bruce Willis as David Addison face:

Th3 show is bringing in som3 pr3tty solid numb3rs, 3sp3cially for a Friday night, so it looks lik3 it'll b3 sticking around. So mayb3 I will giv3 it anoth3r chanc3, but for now, if I'm going to giv3 it a numb3r grad3, 1-10, it g3ts a 3.
