UPN REPORT CARD!

UPNlogo.jpg - 11906 Bytes

Just to shake things up around here, the UPN report card will be delivered by our guest grader, T.A.G. Contributor Samantha Deveraux!

Dear Loyal and Gentle Television Viewers,

When T.A.G first approached me about writing a review for UPN’s new fall line up, it was… well, it was fall. But when your bosom and your dance card are as full as mine, the idea of watching an episode of Star Trek Enterprise is about as likely as my hosting the next Daughters of the Confederacy in Kalamazoo. But when this year's fleet week found me with a case of the clam, I found my schedule wide open with opportunity to pen a review of America’s fastest growing network, UPN.

Kevin Hill: stars Taye Diggs as a 28-year-old, self-made, hotshot entertainment lawyer in New York City with the ultimate bachelor life -- a high-power job, plenty of pretty ladies and enough money to buy whatever he wants. But this is all upset when he gains custody of a child. This show gives me the vapors. Taye can Digg me anytime. I'm drawn to this show like a honeybee on a sweet summer lilac in the dewy Charleston field. And just about as moist.

Veronica Mars: Sassy, inquisitive high school student Veronica Mars, played by Kristen Bell, doubles as an astute detective with her father’s agency. The last time a quirky detective pairing worked so well was my boudoir circa 1987 when a young George Peppard played David Addison to my Maddie Hayes. This show features and excellent depiction of class distinction, with poor servants milling about desperately trying to fulfill the needs of the upper class citizens. Why just the thought of it makes me want to see what my gardener is up to…

Second Time Around: Scintillating, sassy and canceled. It starred real-life lovers Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Parker as Jackson and Ryan Muse, a couple once married for six months but back together as Mr. and Mrs. All they have to do is forget their affairs with other people. It seems their first faux marriage lasted longer then the run of the show.

Speaking of lasting longer, I simply must remember to get driver that number for my herbalist…

Until next time Loyal Readers.
